In September, 1969, I immigrated with Armando, three months pregnant with Andy. We got married early that year so we can immigrate together.
Papa Mayolo came as a tourist in 1971, got a SSS# & found work at a grocery chain a friend work.
Marcos declared Martial law in 1972.
Our close friends Romy & Eria moved to Scottsboro, Alabama when his company relocated there. Papa went & stayed with them, waiting for my citizenship papers, due 1975. Romy's company closed & they moved to Chicago.
Papa went to San Francisco. Cousin Celia & many relatives from Calape are there.
By 1977, I wrote my congressman for help in my citizenship application. In a month, I was interviewed by an immigration officer & sworned as a citizen. I mailed the citizenship certificate as soon as I can to the lawyer helping Papa with his application. Papa petitioned Mama and you all can finish our story in America...

The elections of members of the United States House of Representatives in 1894 came in the middle of President Grover Cleveland's second term. The Independent Review/Auditor came on Monday. At the end of the two hour audit, my mind was made up. There is no end in sight for my business. USA Patriot Act was renewed this year by with nary any revision in regards to foreign money remitters. The new governor of the state of New Jersey have other priorities to balance the budget and reduce the billion dollars deficit to have the energy to reduce state regulations. My customer base is stagnant! I had not one new client the whole year of 2009 and my regular client's remittance amount are at it's lowest ever.

I pick up Kk at daycare after the audit.

We know the problems of its cost and we know it doesn't reduce the deficit and premiums will go up. The C.B.O. has given us this information and the bill is chock full of gimmicks and mandates. I'm not going to get into all that again, but I ask, why has this decision become so personal to our constituents? Why are so many people swarming the Capitol today? Why have we received 100,000 calls an hour from around the country?
It's because health care affects every one of us, and yet here we're debating whether the government should have a bigger role in making those personal decisions. So, make no mistake about it. We are not just here to pass a health care bill. We are being asked to make a choice about the future path of this country.
Mr. Speaker, the speakers to my left are correct, this is history. This is a major turning point. This is not a debate about prices, coverage or choosing doctors. This is ultimately about what kind of country we are going to be in the 21st century. America is not just a nationality. It's not just a massive land from Hawaii to Maine from Wisconsin to Florida. America is an idea. It's the most pro-human idea ever designed by mankind. Our founders got it right when they wrote in the Declaration of Independence that our rights come from nation and nature's God, not from government. Should we now subscribe to an ideology where government creates rights and solely responsible for delivering these artificial rights and then rations these rights? Do we believe that the goal of government is to promote equal opportunity for all Americans to make the most of their lives or do we now believe that government's role is to equalize the results of people's lives?
The philosophy advanced on this floor by this majority today is some arrogant, it's condescending and it tramples upon the principles that have made America so exceptional.
My friends, we are fast approaching a tipping point where more Americans depend upon the Federal government than upon themselves for their livelihood, a point where we, the American people, trade in our commitment and our concern for our individual liberties in exchange for government benefits and dependencies. More to the point, Madam Speaker, we have seen this movie before and we know how it ends. The European social welfare state promoted by this legislation is not sustainable. This is not who we are and it is not who we should become. As we march towards this tipping point of dependency, we are also accelerating towards a debt crisis, as a result of politicians of the past making proposal myths we simply cannot afford to keep. Deja vu all over again. It is unconscionable what we are leaving the next generation. This moment may mark a temporary conclusion of the health care debate, but its place in history has not yet been decided. If this passes, the quest to reclaim the American idea is not over. The fight to reapply our founding principles is not finished. It is just a steeper hill to climb, and it is a climb that we will make. On this issue, more than any other issue we have ever seen here, the American people are engaged, from our town hall meetings to Scott Brown's victory in Massachusett, you have made your voices heard and some of us are listening to you. My colleagues, let's bring down this bill and bring back the idea that made this country great.

The University of Basel’s Institute of Governance recently published a map showing the nations most linked to dirty money. What made the map interesting is that only one of the 28 nations listed was a so-called tax haven, thus exposing the left-wing lie that low-tax jurisdictions are somehow hotbeds of dirty money.
A more fundamental question is whether anti-money laundering laws are an effective way of fighting crime. The evidence is not encouraging. The system costs billions of dollars each year. Banks are forced to set up expensive monitoring systems to snoop on their customers. They are then required to send reports to the government for all large or unusual transactions. Theoretically, these reports are supposed to alert law enforcement to patterns of criminal activity, but since banks are compelled to send millions of reports every year, it is impossible to sift through haystacks of data to find needles of criminal activity. This is why conservatives, such as a former Reagan Justice Department official John Yoder, think the laws do more harm than good. This six-minute video from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity explains why the time has come for politicians to reconsider the current approach.

Let's consider the governor's race in New Jersey. The state has the highest tax burden in the country and the incumbent Democrat governor has only added to the economic burden. He eliminated property tax rebates for middle class homeowners while the sales tax increased. Altogether, taxes on the people in the region have increased by billions of dollars. It’s no surprise that New Jersey has the highest unemployment rate in the region! Thankfully, there is an alternative. Residents there will be better off under an administration that understands the benefits that result when workers are allowed to keep more of what they earn. Watch New Jersey's economy come alive under new leadership that will put government back on the side of the people! Chris Christie promises this new leadership.
Fortunately, New Jersey's Democrat governor is being held accountable with the RGA spending $7 million in the New York and Philadelphia media markets telling the truth about a liberal administrative record while highlighting New Jersey's tax-hiking ways and reminding voters there is an alternative! My friend, dangs, ask me to go with her to Rome motherhouse of her biological sister-nun, Sr. Feliciana, to represent her neice entering her perpetual vow at the convent. I've been to France in 1990 when my favorite daughter was an exchange student in a school south of France, way up in the Alps - Annecy. I worked regular 40 hr week at that time and did not have enough vacation times. I went from Paris to Annecy and back. That's another story in itself.,.
Back to dangs. I planned our trip to as many places in Europe as she want to go. I only want to go to Lourdes, France. Sr. Feliciana's order - Daughters of Mary de Leuca - has a thriving house in Lourdes...

We went to Secaucus outlet looking for driving gloves my first born want for Christmas. The mall was almost empty. Maybe the 20 degree temperature and several inches of still white snow in the ground? But it's two days before Christmas, malls used to be crowded at this time of the year. The line at the post office was not that long either.

Gohmert’s tax holiday plan is elegant in its simplicity: every American taxpayer would pay no federal income or FICA taxes for the first 2 months of 2009. For the typical American family -- earning about $50,000 a year -- that would mean they would keep about $2000 that would otherwise be paid to the government.
Gohmert’s plan doesn’t pay for Wall Street bonuses or let banks use bailout money to buy other banks or pay dividends. It doesn’t rely on bureaucrats to pay money out to the right people at the right time or try to stimulate the economy with token payments to people who don’t pay taxes.
Most Americans pay about 25 % of their income in federal income tax and another 7.25 % in FICA (social security and Medicare taxes). Computing how much money Gohmert’s tax holiday would leave in your family’s checkbook is very simple.
Take your monthly income (the gross amount shown on your pay stubs before tax and any other withholding) and multiply it by .66. That amount is roughly what Gohmert’s two-month tax holiday will leave in your pocket.
