The real choice in accepting or rejecting a child with special needs is never between some imaginary perfection or imperfection. None of us is perfect. No child is perfect. The real choice in accepting or rejecting a child with special needs is between love and unlove; between courage and cowardice; between trust and fear. That's the choice we face when it happens in our personal experience. And that's the choice we face as a society in deciding which human lives we will treat as valuable, and which we will not.
Catholic public officials who take God seriously cannot support laws that attack human dignity without lying to themselves, misleading others and abusing the faith of their fellow Catholics. God will demand an accounting. Catholic doctors who take God seriously cannot do procedures, prescribe drugs or support health policies that attack the sanctity of unborn children or the elderly; or that undermine the dignity of human sexuality and the family. God will demand an accounting. And Catholic citizens who take God seriously cannot claim to love their Church, and then ignore her counsel on vital public issues that shape our nation's life. God will demand an accounting. As individuals, we can claim to be or believe whatever we want. We can posture, and rationalize our choices, and make alibis with each other all day long -- but no excuse for our lack of honesty and zeal will work with the God who made us. God knows our hearts better than we do. If we don't conform our hearts and actions to the faith we claim to believe, we're only fooling ourselves.

'new energy in the struggle to advance the culture of life in our nation'...
Reflections on the Struggle to Advance the Culture of Life
by Archbishop Raymond Burke

When a person has publicly espoused and cooperated in gravely sinful acts, leading many into confusion and error about fundamental questions of respect for human life and the integrity of marriage and the family, his repentance of such actions must also be public. The person in question bears a heavy responsibility for the grave scandal which he has caused. The responsibility is especially heavy for political leaders. The repair of such scandal begins with the public acknowledgment of his own error and the public declaration of his adherence to the moral law. The soul which recognizes the gravity of what he has done will, in fact, understand immediately the need to make public reparation.

Obama Buyer's Remorse! #1,000,001
This WSJ diary says it all. HT: lucianne.com
Millions of Catholics who voted for Obama also 'wonder if they made a mistake' days after inauguration.
That may please the pitchfork brigade, but what about the people who make, sell and service corporate jets? "The Maytag repairman is busy compared to me," complains Bill Woods, president of Western Wings in Roseburg, Oregon. The company refurbishes and resells a range of private aircraft models, but "there is no market today," he says. Mr. Woods reports that the stigma around private jets has become so strong that not only have banks stopped buying them; in some cases banks won't even provide financing for others to buy them. Textron, the world's largest maker of corporate jets, saw its shares pounded after customers cancelled orders on 23 planes in the fourth quarter. General Dynamics, maker of Gulfstream jets, and Canada's Bombardier have also issued grim forecasts for 2009. Airplane manufacturers didn't create Fannie Mae or the Community Reinvestment Act or the AAA-rated CDO. And not all passengers on private planes are as deserving of scorn as the directors of Citigroup. Mr. Woods says many of his customers are crusty, hard-working entrepreneurs who need to be able to travel quickly to cattle auctions or to oversee far-flung timber operations. Mr. Woods says he wishes the White House, which has criticized airplane use by TARP recipients, would stop demonizing his product. He and his wife voted for President Obama last fall but now he admits they wonder if they made a mistake.

Orgasmic birth, my foot!
tip from Hotair.com
It's all about pain and reward. Labor pain is intense uterine contractile pain felt from the tip of a woman's hair to the tip of her toenails. When the baby's head and shoulder is out,it is total body pain relief not orgasm. The heavier in weight the baby, the intense the pain of labor and delivery. Sexualization of the birth process to promote a birthing method? Does this help the pro-life movement?

another clear minded Catholic priest...
Parishioners of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto have been told they should consider going to confession if they voted for Barack Obama, because of the president-elect's position condoning abortion.
"If you are one of the 54 percent of Catholics who voted for a pro-abortion candidate, you were clear on his position and you knew the gravity of the question, I urge you to go to confession before receiving communion. Don't risk losing your state of grace by receiving sacrilegiously," the Rev. Joseph Illo, pastor of St. Joseph's, wrote in a letter dated Nov. 21.
Rev. Stephen Blaire, bishop of the Stockton, Calif., Diocese is wrong and one of the the reasons fifty four million Catholics voted for Obama.

Penance before communion
A married Catholic priest - Fr. Dwight Longenecker of South Carolina.
We support you, Fr. Longenecker and Fr. Newman, in words and prayers.
God have mercy on us.
Brought up in an American Evangelical home, I went to Bob Jones University--the jewel on the buckle of the Bible Belt. While there I came down with a severe case of Anglophilia from reading too much C.S.Lewis and Tolkien and T.S.Eliot. I went to study theology at Oxford, was ordained as an Anglican priest and stayed in England for twenty five years. After ten years wearing a dog collar I was received into the Catholic Church. I spent ten years as a layman writing articles and books no one reads. Then the call came to return to the United States. In December 2006 I was ordained as a Catholic priest. I am now chaplain at St Joseph's Catholic School in Greenville, South Carolina, and I am on the staff of St Mary's Greenville.

Nature's God in first paragraph of ...
The Declaration of Independence,
Action of Second Continental Congress, July 4, 1776.
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America.
When in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.
I am church going Catholic, registered Democrat until ‘o8 primary election, has not voted a Democrat president since Carter and intensely Pro-Life.
No avalanche of words from anyone can change my heart and mind.
For Catholics, this ‘Nature’s God’ the forefathers of the USA mentioned is the same God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit, we love, adore and worship. The same God, the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Christianity and Christian morality emanate.
America is a Christian Country!
For Catholic statistics in USA...
67,117,016 Catholics (22% of the U.S. population) half voted for Obama and Biden, a non-conforming, supposedly practicing, rosary carrying catholic.
We, Catholics are, will and must continue the Pro-Life movement to ensure there will be progeny and legacy for the future of the USA.
God have mercy on us.

We face the threat of a federal bill that, if enacted, would obliterate virtually all the gains of the past 35 years and cause the abortion rate to skyrocket. The "Freedom of Choice Act."
Bishop Finn Warns of 'Freedom of Choice Act'
By Hilary White, 10/3/2008, LifeSiteNews (www.lifesitenews.com)
When a candidate promises to 'sign immediately upon taking office' the Freedom of Choice Act, Catholics and all people of good will have cause to question the sincerity of the candidate's determination to reduce abortions.

What could possibly be a proportionate reason for the more than 45 million children killed by abortion in the past 35 years? Personally, we cannot conceive of such a proportionate reason.
